A large, uncommon map of East Asia prepared by Karl Peucker, and published by Ataria & Co. Striking and heavily annotated with information on China, Korea, Japan, and Russia, the map includes 13 insets of major ports and a view of Port Arthur.

With war flags of China and Japan. Among the trade flag of China and the National frag of Korea. 
In left a large table with historical and economical details about China, Russia and Japan.
In red letters a key to Frei händelplätze (Free treaty ports/towns) and Kohlen Stationen (places where coal could be acquire), etc.
br>Interesting folding map published during the Russo-Japanese War (1904 and 1905) fought between the Russian Empire and the Empire of Japan over rival imperial ambitions in Manchuria and Korea. 
The major theatres of operations were the Liaodong Peninsula and Mukden in Southern Manchuria and the seas around Korea, Japan and the Yellow Sea.

Karl Peucker is perhaps best known for his contributions to scientific mapping, developing a colour scale of increasing saturation with rising elevation, which is still in use today.
